Ontela Picdeck Essay Example for Free

Ontela Picdeck Essay Ontela PicDeck creative approach to have cellular customers have the ability to automatically have pictures and videos directly sent to their computer. This reduces time needed and simplifying the strenuous act of doing it manually. The U. S mobile phone service industry earned 150 billion dollars in 2007 and growing. This technology has potential of playing a role in that with critiquing the marketing strategy they have approached the market with. It is essential for a better marketing strategy for Ontela to show customers so they can better understand the benefits and how to efficiently utilize it. The qualitative research segments best defined the customer expectations. Sarah, the parent, loved the fact the pictures â€Å"just appear â€Å"on the computer automatically. Steve, the young professional, looked to not always have to lug around the digital camera. Instead have a phone that can take care of both jobs. Regina, the teen, expectation exceeded both Steve and Sarah, but still within the abilities of PicDeck. Regina wanted to manage her pictures from her phone and monitor the pictures for her social networking sites. Herzberg’s 2-factor theory can be used in this instance. Using this theory to understand and distinguishing what motivates the purchase while staying â€Å"relevant†. In other words you must keep up with the recent trends like the social networking wave. These three segments all produce various expectations but all acknowledged the expectations of a simplified and quicker method to transferring pictures. These segments age groups and lifestyles greatly vary so the solution to market them must be more specified to that target group. The improvement of creating a more knowledgeable customer base will require a critiqued advertising campaign. In the case of Regina, advertising within the social networking programs like Facebook and MySpace. This advertising will catch the attention of these teen and inform them of the product. Specifically push the simplicity, timeliness, and how the pictures are still stored even when your cellular device is lost. For the younger generation and phones being a huge commodity, phones are constantly being stolen and lost. If interpreted right, then the teen will approach their parents to have their plan changed to include PicDeck. Then the parent will be informed and furthering the utterfly effect of a strict advertising scheme to the teenage target customers. This is how Sarah would be notified. Social is a major influence in customer behavior through family, friends, and reference groups. All play as contributors to trusting a buy of a product. Continuously for people who aren’t very tech savvy like Sarah and Steve; they do though always have an email and usually check it frequentl y. So a mass email to the entire customer base informing them of the new product. Steve would be influenced more by the occupation. Besides using this program for personal use, Steve would use this for his real estate job. To be successful in a job market like Steve’s you must influence your work with newer technology so you may keep up with competitors. â€Å"With PicDeck, work assignments are accomplished more efficiently and simply†, statements like this boost the products equity and what customers like Steve would want to hear. For a product to blossom you must target the younger generation first. With constant technology improvements it’s hard for the older generation to keep up. The younger generation is constantly working with the new technologies so you inform the younger generation and it will spread to older generations. Ontela has created an inferior product and now need to raise awareness of the tech advances this product has influenced. The magazine Telephony stated PicDeck to be â€Å"helping the bridge the gap between phone and PC†. Continuous advertising is needed in magazines for the working class people to involve this program into their workplace. For instance putting an ad in the magazine SkyMall. The magazine you see on every flight you’re on. This can target a business class customer base because the individuals who travel most are individuals travelling on business. And this is the only reading material on the plane.

APPROPRIATE HEALTH AND SAFETY PRIORITIES FOR SPECIFIC HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE WORKPLACE SETTING Employers have a common obligation under section 2 of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 to guarantee, so far as is logically practical, the health, safety and welfare of their workforce. These policies intend to make certain that work settings meet the health, safety and welfare desires of every employee, including individuals with disabilities. Most of the systems involve things to be ‘suitable’. Regulation 2(3) makes it clear that things should be suitable for anyone including those with disabilities. Where essential, parts of the work settings, including in particular doors, stairways, showers, passages, basins, sinks, toilets, bathrooms and workstations, should be made reachable for disabled persons. Health Ventilation Workplaces need to be effectively ventilated. Fresh, hygienic air should circulate and can be from a suitable source outside the work setting, unpolluted by discharges from any process outlets like chimneys and flues, and be disseminated through every room. Temperatures in indoor workplaces Individual preference complicates specification of a satisfactory thermal environment for everyone. For organisations with mainly desk activities like offices, the temperature should usually be no less than 16 Â °C. If the job involves physical effort it should be no less than 13 Â °C (unless other regulations require less temperature). Lighting Lighting should be adequate to permit people to work and move around in safety. If essential, local lighting should be supplied at certain workstations and areas of particular hazards such as passage way to the basement. Lighting and light fixtures should not cause any hazard. Automatic emergency lighting, motorized by an autonomous source, should be supplied in case of sudden loss of power that would generate a risk. Cleanliness and waste materials Every workplace and the furnishings, equipments, surfaces of floors, walls and ceilings and fittings must be in clean and hygienic condition. Cleaning and the taking away of waste have to be carried out by a compulsorily effective means. Waste must be stored in appropriate containers. Workstations and seating Workstations should be fit for the individuals using them for the job. Employees should be capable of exiting workstations quickly in an emergency. If work must be done in a sitting position, seats should be made suitable for those using them for the kind of work they do. Seating should provide sufficient support for the lower back, and footrests should be available for employees who are unable to place their feet flat on the floor. Safety Maintenance The workplace, and certain tools, devices and equipments should be properly retained in competent operational order for health, safety and welfare. Such protection is mandatory for mechanical ventilation systems; apparatus and devices which pose risk to health, safety or welfare in the event of faults; and equipment and devices proposed to avert or reduce danger. Floors and traffic routes The term ‘Traffic route’ is used for any route for pedestrian traffic and/or vehicles, and includes any fixed ladders, gateway, stairs, passage, and doorway, loading bay or ramp. There must be adequate traffic routes, of plenty distance across and headroom, to permit individuals and vehicles to flow effortlessly and safely. Group dynamics in the business world

Group dynamics in the business world Management Importance Of Understanding Group Dynamics In The Business World The study of two or more persons who are associated to each other by common relations, which form a group, is known as the group dynamics. This is very important in the areas of sociology, psychology, and communication studies. They relate and manipulate each other and build up a variety of dynamic processes which split them from a arbitrary collection of persons. These processes are norm, role, associations, and growth; need to fit in, social power, and effect on conduct. Groups can be categorized as collective such as main, secondary and category group. In an institute growth, the expression group process refers to the perceptive of the behaviors of citizens in groups that are trying to unravel a quandary or formulate a resolution (Drucker, 2007). It is an important feature of successful solidarity and is an aspect affecting the result of any type of an event done by a group. Factors such as influence, power and inter-personal conflict have an effect on dynamics and the performance of a group. Importance Of Understanding Group Dynamics As the team is formed, it is very crucial to be aware of the group in the areas such as; what to do when the team gets mutual for the first time, what to do when a member leaves or someone else joins after the group has matured, what happens when the leader of the group is replaced by a new member or from the team, why the team exists, the kind of relations they have, what if conflict arises among the team members. How Does Positive Interdependence Help To Achieve Mutual Goals? Positive interdependence is the ideal eminence that defines the collaboration and changes group work into solidarity. It is an important characteristic that has been emphasized by scholars alarmed first and foremost with promoting the academic achievement of the students and cognitive growth and also scholars apprehensive with the holistic growth of students simply involve the growth of freedom to select freely and do something free from the outside influence. Thus a great result is experienced within teamwork unlike from an individual since with respect to time and capital, an individual will spend more compared to the team. Are Groups Or Individuals More Effective In Work Environments For groups to become effective in work environments there are various steps that give the guideline to their success. These include: organizing a cross-function team based on the various and types of skill and ability of every member, ascertain clear objectives and boundaries for the team, endow with the team clear power and self-government to systemize their work and achieve their objectives, set a sensible but distinct time frame to achieve their objective in order to inspire and compel the team to results, maintain the team by providing all essential resources to achieve their objective and finally remunerate and identify the team as one and not as persons (Cooper, 1992). Why Is It Said That Research About Groups Is NOT Always Valid And Relevant? This is because the reimbursement of a research is not always definite and may not be felt by the players and is not different to their interests, is a reason of which one must be satisfied. What is group cohesiveness? Is group cohesiveness important? How do group cohesive forces affect group processes? What can you do to increase cohesiveness in your group? Group cohesiveness is how much the members of the team are pulled together to the ideas and views of the team. It is an important aspect as it strengthens the team in terms of growth and maturity and also in marketing strategies not forgetting the behavior of the team. To increase the cohesiveness of the in the group, involve every member in the discussions by giving all an opportunity to air their ideas or views and also organizing some social activity such as games that all members will participate in freely. Engaging the team members in training courses that will add to their skills. This will open up the spirit of many people and create a stronger bond among them thus strengthening the group. How Does Social Influence/Interaction Affect Decision-Making? How Can You Encourage/Promote And Discourage Members Acceptance Of Proposals In The Workplace? Social influence affects the decision making in that a persons attitude can come in between the communication. Attitude in this case is a persons perception toward a thing or an idea or even to another to another person. Are Leaders An Important Aspect Of Groups? Can Leaders Emerge From Groups? How? What Is The Importance Of Group Members Perceptions About Leadership And Why Is This Phenomenon Important As It Pertains To Group Outcomes? Leaders are an important aspect in a group. No group can make a move without a form of leadership. The role of leaders in groups or even organizations is to create and implement ideas and also to push and encourage the members to achieving their goals and objectives. According to Bruce and Pepitone (1998), leaders can emerge from groups of which would be the best step since this particular person will have views the problems from different perceptions that is from the position of been a member and having interacted with them and discussed issues from a personal level, he or she will be able to tackle them and come with solutions that will benefit not only the team but the members as well. Leadership is in due course about creating a technique for people to add to making something bizarre take place. The importance of the members perceptions about leadership is very important as they may make or break the team. Most importantly when the leader happens to hear about the issues, he she will be able to rule in a different direction or support his way of governance (Hamel Breen, 2007). If the members dont like the present leader the team may be facing disaster as they will be performing in protest that they will end up not achieving their goals or producing good results. Leadership is basically making sure the job is completed successfully. Why are teams more effective than work groups in certain situations? Identify these situations where teams are more effective than work group and provide examples. Teams are better performing than groups. this is so because a team is smaller than a group in most cases who have come together with a common goal while a group come together to contribute to a topic on their views and knowledge. Teams necessitate individual and joint accountability whereas groups dont. A teams purpose is in cooperation strong-minded and intended with organization. Teams have the role of leadership distributed among the members of the team, they dedicated in working in harmony to of course achieve the goals and they work by applying all forms of respect to the counterparts this characteristics strengthen they union (Hyman Mason, 1995). Groups are helpful and important to an organization because they can finish critical responsibilities whereas teams are also very important and can work at high levels than distinctive work (Robbins Coulter, 2009). This higher presentation level is the effect of a superior synergy consequential from teamwork and jointly created outputs to a certain extent than a pool of individual output. The more casual environment in which members of a team work, and also which also allow for community of performance to build up ensuing in on-going erudition and creative application, encourages the strength of teams. Essay --

Jeffrey Chhim Professor Garth Hall Results Both studies utilized microdialysis probes on rats to obtain dialysates, these were further analyzed through liquid chromatography (LC) and/or mass spectrometry (MS) for the presence of tryptamine derivatives (5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT or serotonin) and melatonin (study 1), Dimethyltryptamine (DMT) and other molecules (study 2)) in the pineal gland. In the first study, the surgical implantation of microdialysis probe operation was performed on 142 rats with 10% of which deceased during or shortly following surgery before any data can be attained. Of the rats that endured the surgical implantation, another 10% were considered not meet for the study due to the incorrect position of the probes. The second study did not include information about how many rats were utilized and if any had perished during the experimentation process. LC (Study 1) Source [2] Figure 1: Daily summaries of 5-HT (red) and melatonin (yellow) secretion in four categories of rats. In each, the first night represents 24 hours after the probe placement, and each data point represents the extent of recuperation throughout a 10-min interval. Class I (panel A), class II (panel B), class III (panel C), and class IV (panel D), and one representative rat is shown for each class. Horizontal axes signify time of day, and the vertical axes signify the quantity of secretion for every injection. The darken regions signify 01:00–11:00 hours in each panel. Microdialysates of rats were organized into four unique classes based on stable recovery (Panels A-D) refer to Figure 1, each peak height represents the 5-HT secretion during early night as well as the normal daytime secretion with little or no day-to-day variation. Class I (... ...0732/ 161.10735 amu), IAA (176.07061/176.07057 amu), HIAA (192.06552/ 192.06511 amu), TRP (205.09715/205.09711 amu) and HNATA (219.11280/219.11296 amu) identified. Analysis of samples for DMT by precise mass gave 189.13860 amu associated with the calculated exact mass of 189.13866 amu obtained for a DMT reference. DMT was not found in all samples like that of melatonin and HTA. Sources 1. Barker S A, Borjiginm J, Lomnicka I, Straussman R. (2013). The Life and Times of Rosie the Riveter Essay -- American History

The film titled, â€Å"The Life and Times of Rosie the Riveter†, looks at the roles of women during and after World War II within the U.S. The film interviews five women who had experienced the World War II effects in the U.S, two who were Caucasian and three who were African American. These five women, who were among the millions of women recruited into skilled male-oriented jobs during World War II, shared insight into how women were treated, viewed and mainly controlled. Along with the interviews are clips from U.S. government propaganda films, news reports from the media, March of Time films, and newspaper stories, all depicting how women are to take "the men’s" places to keep up with industrial production, while reassured that their duties were fulfilling the patriotic and feminine role. After the war the government and media had changed their message as women were to resume the role of the housewife, maid and mother to stay out of the way of returning soldiers. Thus the patriotic and feminine role was nothing but a mystified tactic the government used to maintain the American economic structure during the world war period. It is the contention of this paper to explore how several groups of women were treated as mindless individuals that could be controlled and disposed of through the government arranging social institutions, media manipulation and propaganda, and assumptions behind women’s tendencies which forced â€Å"Rosie the Riveter† to become a male dominated concept. Since the war began women were led to believe that they were the ones who had to be the patriotic sacrifice until the men came home from war. The film reveals how the government used the media to alternately urge women to give up such elements of their feminin... ...owards more love stories. Essentially more forms of propaganda ensued to let women know what they should be doing. More domestic jobs became available such as being a maid, restaurant work, dishwashing and cleaning. However women who worked war jobs wanted their own maids now so they could pursue their own dreams. They felt inspired and accomplished. Lola Wiexl mentioned that although skills within the workforce were easily learned, within the household traditions still persisted. Lola herself said she'd go home cook, clean and do the laundry while her brother laid on the couch. She didn't question it before but she was angry about it for years after her war time experience. Thus patriarchal hegemonies still existed after the war and were perpetuated by the government and media as much as possible to solicit women who participated in activities outside of the home.

Team Decision Making Essay -- Organizational Development, Teams

The given case asks for one team decision-making structure that is most effective for the following creative project: Eight administrators are given one afternoon to generate as many creative ideas as possible and to decide which one of these is the best. To solve this question we first need to determine which kind of team is involved. McShane and Von Glinow state that â€Å"Teams are groups of two or more people who interact and influence each other, are mutually accountable for achieving common goals associated with organizational objectives, and perceive themselves as a social entity within the organization† (234). Furthermore we can say that this group can be called a â€Å"Task force (project) team† because these eight administrators are a temporary team â€Å"whose assignment is to realize an opportunity† (McShane and Von Glinow 235). Now, that we know these people can be called a team, the next step is to look at the constraints on team decision-makin g because this will enable us to choose the most suitable decision-making structure. Therefore, I will first give a brief overview of the existing structures and then decide for one method which I will explain in depth. Finally I will provide a brief conclusion and recommendation. Constraints on Team Decision Making There are plenty problems within team decision-making. According to McShane and Von Glinow the four most common problems in team decision-making are: time constraints, evaluation apprehension, pressure to conform, and groupthink (256). Time Constraints refers to the fact that a team requires more time to come to a conclusion than an individual. That is because team members have to communicate with each other about their ideas, and also have to debate about these i... ... (Time Constraints). Second, NGT reduces conflicts in the team. The case already predicted that some administrators in the group often disagree with each other and might criticize each other's ideas. Because NGT does not allow debating and criticism, conflicts won’t be a problem. Third, NGT includes silent and independent development of the individual ideas which minimizes the other decision making constraints like evaluation apprehension, pressure to conform, and groupthink. My statement is also supported by Mitchell and Danielson who carried out a study that also indicates that the Nominal Group Technique is most effective for creative projects (19). Therefore, I recommend choosing the Nominal Group Technique for the eight administrators to identify new revenue-generating uses of classrooms and related facilities between teaching semesters in one afternoon.

Education in Egypt Essay

Education is an important factor to a new and improved Egypt. But unfortunately the education we have here in Egypt leads to high literacy rate. This was proven through out the research. Also that high literacy rate is due to the deterioration of the educational system and governmental schools. The research was based on a questionnaire made and distributed among students and parents randomly. The questionnaire was divided in to 5 questions. First knowing their career either students or parents, second was either preferring public or private schools, for third question the number of students in the class now and what do they prefer the most, forth was ways for improving, and last question is either the literacy rate is effected from the way of education we have and why. The Research had 62 samples, they were all either students or parents, they were random samples, and all students where school students. The results obtained from the questionnaire showed 61% were students and 37% were parents. As for the second question there was a huge gap, there was 95% who choose private and only 5% choose public and reasons were defined. For the third question there was completely different results, concerning question (3 a) there was 27.42% answered 15 to 20 students, 38.71% claimed being in classes of 25 to 30 students, 29% answered 35 to 40 students and only 4.84% answered 40+. However question (3 b) had most of the samples answering similarly, having only 2 answers 71.3% wanted 15 to 20 students in class and 28.7% accepted 25 to 30 students as for the rest 0%. For the forth question the participants had different opinions in answering it as it is an open-ended question. Last question had 77.4% answered yes, 14.5% for No and 8.1% had neutral as their answer, for the rest of the question was also open-ended. Concerning question two why they choose either public or private, for people who choose private schools was because they have better education, teachers are well qualified, more taking care of students, the schools are neater hygienic wise, having the same social standard colleagues, the private schools having better working environments, also for not just concerning on academic levels but also behaviors and manners. However for the few others who answered public was because it is cheaper, near the house and because the parent work there so it is easier. Going back to the literature review, yes searches did get out that most people or parents send their children private schools as for all the reason stated by the participants. Regarding the forth question there was so many suggestions, some of them are that changing the curriculum, teachers having higher salaries so they have motivation on working better, changing the way of teaching, making public and private schools going on the same curriculum, reduce the number of students in classes so that students and teachers could concentrate, non academic courses so that students loves the school and know its important, having a better working environment for students in classes, adding some critical thinking so students do not get out of school having the technique of memorizing only, improving the hygienic state of the classrooms and WC. Referring to what (Moussa) said in the literature review was same as some of the participants’ results about having overcrowded classes and the concentration in class. Also as the educational institute claimed about paying more attention to the curriculum and to continuously work on improving it was also one of the participants answers which shows that there is similarities between what the searches said and the questionnaires answers. Although based on (Helmy) â€Å"the country’s curriculum and assessment systems emphasize the memorization of facts, which works against innovative thinking and knowledge creation† is common to one of the answers about the critical thinking and not memorizing Finally question five people who answered with a yes was because they think government should provide in public school the same curriculum and importance of the subjects so students would want to go, also they do not give a concentration for those people who are in areas which there are no schools so they do not even care for learning, so these are some of the reasons that leads to high literacy rate however who had a no answer was because they think that it is because people does not want to learn not because we have a bad education but because they think working will get them money faster than studying first then working, and neutral did though education some times is a main problem for literacy because it is not as good as it should be but sometimes it is not the barrier because if a person wants to learn they will find their way to learn. In conclusion hypothesis was supported, as for most of the participants had the same answers as where out in the literature review as showing education is responsible in increasing or decreasing high literacy rate, also the quality of education in Egypt should be changed as for it is found out by margin that most of the people think the same about education in Egypt. Education is a very important aspect in everyone’s lives. It’s the education that makes us knowledgeable, respectable, civilized people so we have to take a very good care of it.
